A Wind-Swept Session in Scotland
“There’s something in the wind that knows how to carry love.”
Some portraits say everything without speaking a word. This session, tucked in the windswept nook of Edinburgh, captures something both tender and elemental. Against moody skies and the hush of open air, this couple invited me into their quiet rhythm—shared glances, a beloved dog at their side, and the kid of love that doesn’t need grand gestures to be profound. These images became more than just portraits. They became proof that the softest moments often echo the loudest.
This session was all about atmosphere. Misted hills, the presence of a loyal pup, the way she tucked herself into him like a lighthouse in fog. I let the weather and their energy shape how I shot. I leaned into the natural softness of the day. The tones stayed muted and grounded, which allowed their connection to rise in quiet contrast. Whether it’s the chill in the air or the warmth between them, these images carry a kind of rooted stillness that I always hope to chase in my work.
For me, these are the sessions that linger, ones where very little is posed and everything just is. Scotland always brings out that poetic honesty in people, and I’m honored to have captured it here. If you’re looking for a portrait experience that feels true to who you are—raw edges, soft glances, messy hair and all, I’d love to hear your story next.
